About the position

The Schatz Energy Research Center at Cal Poly Humboldt is seeking an experienced professional to join our offshore wind energy research team as a Senior Energy Policy Analyst. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in energy policy, energy markets, and electric power. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading research and analysis focused on offshore wind energy, particularly in the areas of energy policy, electricity markets, and grid integration. The Schatz Center is recognized as a leader in research and policy analysis related to offshore wind development on the U.S. West Coast, having published over 30 reports in the last five years on various topics including wind resource potential, grid integration, economic viability, and regional environmental effects. This role involves close collaboration with state and federal policymakers, and the analysis conducted will have the potential to influence policy and regulatory strategies in the offshore wind sector. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position with a minimum term of one year, with the possibility of continuation based on funding, workload, and performance. The first round of application reviews will occur on August 8, 2024, at 5 pm (Pacific). Responsibilities
