The NOAA Fisheries Research Participation Program offers two research opportunities in Seattle, Washington, aimed at enhancing the educational and professional growth of scientists and engineers interested in coastal stewardship and management. Participants will engage in authentic research experiences that utilize advanced equipment typically unavailable on college campuses, preparing them for potential STEM employment opportunities at NOAA. • Experience with LC-MS/MS and GC-MS
• Proficient in liquid and gas chromatography - mass spectrometry

Responsibilities
• Conduct research on stormwater pollutants and their effects on salmon
• Develop new analytical methods for assessing salmon exposure to toxic chemicals
• Collect, analyze, and synthesize research data
• Write and submit peer-reviewed manuscripts on research findings
• Collaborate with advisor Dr. Irvin Schultz and project partners from various agencies

Qualifications
• Pursuing or recently obtained a Master’s or Doctoral degree in relevant fields within the past three years
