Renewable Energy Project Origination Manager

Leap29 is excited to welcome an experienced professional to join our dynamic team in a vital role focused on renewable energy development. As a core member of our consultancy and advisory firm, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge renewable energy projects across the UK, with flexible location options available.

In this role, you'll collaborate with a wide array of clients and stakeholders on transformative projects in solar photovoltaic, energy storage, onshore wind, and hydrogen. You will play a crucial role in identifying and advancing new onshore, utility-scale renewable energy opportunities. Your responsibilities will include strategic site searching, site evaluation, engaging with landowners and clients, negotiating exclusivity agreements, and finalizing option and lease contracts.

Our team will support you with specialists in data insights, financial modeling, grid analysis, mapping, and land referencing to enhance your ability to identify and assess potential development sites.

Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and secure suitable sites for renewable energy development, assisting clients in expanding their project pipelines.
• Evaluate the renewable energy potential on client landholdings in collaboration with internal teams.
• Coordinate and oversee the contributions from technical specialists to streamline project progression.
• Work with clients' advisors to form land agreements for diverse renewable energy project types.
• Engage in the valuation, acquisition, and disposal processes of renewable energy assets when required.
• Build and maintain robust professional relationships with clients, offering comprehensive reporting and informed advice.
• Conduct in-depth policy analysis and research on key renewable energy technologies and sectors.
• Utilize your industry contacts to uncover and generate new business opportunities.
• Travel throughout the UK as necessary for meetings and site visits.

Key Skills & Experience:
• Proven experience in the renewable energy sector is essential.
• Proficiency in GIS and mapping tools.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Commercial awareness and financial understanding of renewable energy projects.
• Professional and confident demeanor with exceptional client care skills.
• Effective time management, task prioritization, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proactive and flexible approach, with a willingness to contribute to departmental strategy and business development.
• Willingness to travel as needed, with a full driving license and access to a vehicle.
