McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager for their Renewable Energy Business Unit to oversee large utility-scale solar projects across the continental U.S. This full-time, site-based role requires extensive travel and involves managing project logistics, contracts, quality management, and vendor relationships. Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in solar or energy projects and a relevant degree.

POSITION SUMMARY

McCarthy's Renewable Energy Business Unit is looking for Project Managers to manage large utility-scale solar projects throughout continental United States. This is a great opportunity to assist both developers and power companies on some of the largest and most unique solar jobs in the country with excellent opportunity for future growth within McCarthy.


This is a full-time, site-based position that requires extensive travel to locations that span the continental U.S. Travel subsistence and additional incentives provided per company guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in developing project chart of accounts, site logistics plan and detailed CPM construction scheduleMaintain a thorough understanding of the McCarthy/Owner contract, develop and maintain the detailed project contract status report.Coordinate/participate with the Project Director and Operations Department in the actual buyout of the project, including negotiating and issuing subcontracts and purchase orders.Continuously monitor project labor to verify that the project is properly staffed for schedule and budget requirements.Establish, maintain and lead the on-site Quality Management processOversee the pay request process, job cost report and total cost projection reportsEnsure project quality and effective implementation of safety, EEO and Affirmative Action programsTrain and monitor progress of all project labor and staff performance and developmentReview and approve material orders and installation work plansDevelop, schedule and lead project close-out processesDevelop and maintain effective relationships with vendors, subcontractors and owners to represent McCarthys core valuesQUALIFICATIONS

10+ years experience with solar/energy related projects of $10M+Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering requiredGeneral knowledge of construction principles/practices requiredExperienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform workExperience leading successful project team, including development of employee and maintaining relationships with external entitiesAbility to travel 100% nationwideMcCarthy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veteran status.For California locations only, the salary range for this position is: $119,000 - $158,400. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Compensation offered may vary based on work location, experience, qualifications, specialty, training, and market and business considerations, among other factors.For Colorado locations only,In accordance with Colorados Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB19-085), we are including McCarthys good-faith and reasonable estimate of a range of entry level base compensation at the time of the posting. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Given the dynamic nature of the large-scale commercial construction industry, a candidates project portfolio and background can change the role and compensation for which that candidate might be qualified. The title and pay range for this role could change based on candidate qualifications and experience.
