Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The position (K0227568) Serve as the leader of the Medicaid Policy Bureau. This individual will review other state Medicaid policies and Medicaid eligibility policies innovations with the goal of providing a pathway toward continuous improvement in the KanCare program. In addition, the individual will ensure all Medicaid policies are reviewed and updated as needed to ensure program efficiency. The individual will head a team comprised of a 1) Policy Team, 2) Eligibility Policy Team, and 3) State Plan Amendment and Waiver Team. The individual will work collaboratively with the clinical team and the rest of the Department of Healthcare Finance division to ensure that the KanCare program effectively and efficiently meets current and future objectives to serve Medicaid recipients.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Work collaboratively with KDHE clinical team to assure that key clinical input is obtained during the creation of new clinical and eligibility policies, including state plan amendments and waivers as needed.

Qualifications
• Education:
• High School, GED
• Licensing & Certification:
• Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
• Minimum Qualifications:
• Three years of experience in planning, organizing and directing the work of a department, program or agency.
• Minimum of two years’ experience developing policies for a highly regulated program or industry.
• Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
• Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
• Proofreading, editing, attention to detail
• Able to communicate interpretations of data effectively to various audiences
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Ability to track, develop, and synthesize data
• Demonstrate skills to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously
