Job Description
firstPRO, Inc is hiring an IT Support Technician in Dover, DE. The role involves desktop support, imaging, inventory management, and equipment logistics. Responsibilities include imaging PCs, troubleshooting Windows OS and Office applications, managing IT inventory, and providing customer service. Ideal candidates should have experience with SCCM or Autopilot, strong troubleshooting skills, and a proactive attitude. This is a contractor position with no degree required.
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented IT Support Technician to assist with desktop support, imaging, inventory management, and equipment logistics. This role will support internal IT operations by preparing and maintaining end-user devices, tracking assets, and ensuring a smooth flow of equipment distribution and returns. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Windows imaging, troubleshooting, and a strong customer service mindset.
Responsibilities:
• Image all PCs using SCCM or Microsoft Autopilot based on organizational standards.
• Troubleshoot issues with Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
• Install and configure software on new or existing devices.
• Update and maintain the IT inventory sheet, ensuring accurate tracking of device ownership.
• Manage and maintain equipment and peripherals in the storage room, including proactively ordering hardware when inventory is low.
• Organize shipping logistics, including preparing materials, creating labels, and managing FedEx supply stock.
• Coordinate with Dell for warranty repairs and hardware replacements.
• Work with employees and departments to retrieve equipment from separated employees or collect devices during hardware refreshes.
• Prepare decommissioned equipment for secure disposal in coordination with Iron Mountain.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support to end users in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:
• Experience imaging devices using SCCM or Autopilot.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with hardware and software installation processes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
• Prior experience handling IT inventory and equipment logistics is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
