Jax Dragonfly Academy is hiring an Outdoor Elementary Educator to lead nature-based educational programs for elementary students in Jacksonville, FL. About the position
Jax Dragonfly Field Labs is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Outdoor Elementary Educator to lead outdoor educational programs for elementary-aged students. This role focuses on facilitating hands-on nature-based learning experiences and fostering a strong connection between children and the natural world. The position offers flexible scheduling and requires a passion for environmental education.
Responsibilities
• Lead and facilitate nature-based educational programs for elementary students including Nature Clubs and Science Clubs.

• Teach environmental, science, and cultural lessons both indoors and outdoors.
,
• Prepare and clean up program materials and equipment.
,
• Attend training workshops and professional development sessions.
,
• Promote the mission, goals, activities, and events of Jax Dragonfly Field Labs.

• Collaborate with school teachers, administrators, volunteers, and parents to support outdoor learning initiatives.
,
• Document learning processes through written documentation, photos, and social media content.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred MA, BA, or AA).

• Minimum of two years of experience leading environmental education programs or working with young children, including those with diverse abilities or special needs.

• Strong connection with nature and passion for nature-based education.
,
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
,
• Ability to work effectively and productively as part of a team.
,
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
,
• Physically fit and able to crouch, dig, climb, hike, and carry up to 50 lbs.
,
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
,
• Certified CPR and First Aid (Wilderness First Responder preferred).
Nice-to-haves
• Experience in teaching for at least 1 year.
