Job Description

The Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a full-time Water Resources Specialist. This role involves developing and managing a water leasing program to support sustainable agriculture, enhance water conservation, and provide environmental water uses. The position offers a starting pay of $22.96 per hour, benefits including health and dental insurance, paid time off, and a retirement plan. A bachelor's degree and two years of agriculture science experience are preferred.

Responsible for the development, management and coordination of a water leasing program within the middle Rio Grande valley for the primary purpose of: 1) advancing and preserving sustainable agriculture within the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District (MRGCD); 2) assisting the Water Management Division with annual water conservation and operational efficiency objectives; 3) providing water for environmental uses consistent with specific commitments under the 2016 Biological Opinion.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.96 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
