Job Description

APA Group is seeking a Technical Officer - Electrical and Instrumentation for a full-time, 12-month max term role based in Mount Isa City, Australia. This position involves maintaining and repairing electrical systems, diagnosing technical issues, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role requires FIFO work in Windorah with a 15 days on, 13 days off roster. Candidates should have strong technical skills and experience in gas plant/pipeline operations.

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Technical Officer – Electrical and Instrumentation to join us in our Far West QLD team on a full-time max term basis for 12 months. This role will be FIFO for Windorah, working a 15 days on and 13 days off roster.

Reporting to the Team Leader Mt Isa, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems. This includes ensuring the safety and reliability of these systems, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and complying with industry regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and repair electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to these systems.
• Comply with industry regulations and standards to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to improve the performance of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Provide technical support and training to other staff as needed.

Your background
• Strong technical skills with a good understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Demonstrated experience in Gas Plant/Pipeline operations with electrical and instrumentation qualifications including, metering, calibration and EEHA.
• Experience in maintenance of compressors, gas engine alternators, electric motors and pressure reduction systems.
• Able to competently use relevant computer applications to analyse data, calibrate instruments and maintain records.

About The Team

The O&M team are responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of gas to our contracted customers. We maintain an extensive portfolio of pipelines and gas compression stations spread over large distances in some of the most remote locations in the state. Typical equipment includes turbine compression units, GEA’s and customer delivery stations which contain pressure and temperature regulation equipment. We also maintain the metering and gas quality measuring instruments which are integral to the custody transfer of gas along the pipelines under our control.
