Job Description

Bardee is seeking a Superstar Food Waste Business Development Manager in Sunshine VIC, Australia, to help reduce food waste by driving sales and partnerships. The role involves lead generation, nurturing prospects, closing sales, and achieving KPI targets. Candidates should have 1-3 years of relevant sales experience, strong self-management skills, and excellent communication abilities. This full-time position offers equity and performance incentives while reporting to the General Manager.
Help us tackle Australia’s 7.9B tonne food waste problem. We’re looking for a sales superstar to 10X Bardee’s sustainable impact by helping businesses to divert food waste from landfill.

This is a full-time position with equity in the company and attractive performance based incentives, reporting directly to the General Manager.


Why Bardee?**

Our mission is to reshape the global food system. To do this, we transform food waste into protein for pet food and animal feed, and certified organic fertiliser with insects ~ learn more about what we do here.

Bardee’s certified organic fertiliser, Superfly, has launched across Australia direct to growers and through distributors and we are now ready to substantially grow the number of farmers using Superfly to rebuild their soil and grow more food. As the only company in Australia capable of producing black soldier fly (BSFL) frass fertiliser in volume, we have a unique opportunity to bring these crop and soil benefits, that cannot be replicated through other fertiliser production methods,, to the Australian market. There are exciting new product development and large commercial partnerships in the pipeline that'll help you be successful in this role.

Recently, Bardee was also certified to produce carbon credits by the Australian Government Clean Energy Regulator (CER) in a global landmark case and we announced our plans to build a fertiliser mega factory here in Australia, producing 100 tonnes of fertiliser per day.

The role
:

- Lead generation: Developing market knowledge, segmenting & prioritising prospective customers, creating lists, and conducting phone-based or in-person outreach to maintain a full sales pipeline
- Nurturing and qualifying leads: Developing and customising food waste collection plans based on customer needs, conducting demos, and building relationships to maximise conversion potential
- Closing & holding sales: finalising contracts, helping prospective customers easily overcome blockers to onboarding, and following up with customers post-onboarding to ensure they are happy with the service
- Supporting strong KPI delivery: Keeping sales forecasts and reporting up to date, and managing your activity volume at each funnel stage to ensure you deliver collections targets

This role will report to the General Manager, with additional coaching from the Chief Commercial Officer.

About you
:
To succeed in this role, you will have:

- At least 1-3 years in a direct sales or business development role, ideally in the hospitality, property management, waste management, or institutional space
- Strong motivation and ability to self-manage and drive your own workload and time, and meet and exceed targets in a fast-paced environment
- Polished and professional presentation, verbal and written comms in a B2B sales setting
- Good digital literacy & ability to use a CRM, report sales performance metrics
- Exceptional customer service skills, ensuring timely and detailed follow up with each customer
- Ability to take on coaching and customer feedback and learn from the sales process to further adapt our collections product and sales methodology
