Job Description

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is seeking a Chief Executive Officer for the Great Barrier Reef Marine Parks Authority. The CEO will be responsible for managing the Authority, ensuring it performs its functions as set out in the Marine Park Act. Key responsibilities include managing staff, promoting marine park management, establishing relationships with Traditional Owners, implementing sustainability plans, and working closely with the Reef Authority Board. The successful candidate should have strong leadership skills, integrity, and a commitment to public sector governance. The position is a full-time statutory appointment for a fixed term of five years. A security clearance is required.
