Job Description

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is seeking a Chief Executive Officer for the Great Barrier Reef Marine Parks Authority. The CEO will be responsible for managing the Authority and ensuring it performs its functions as set out in the Marine Park Act. Key responsibilities include managing staff, promoting the achievement of the Authority's purpose, maintaining world-class marine park management, establishing relationships with Traditional Owners, and implementing the Reef 2050 Long-Term Sustainability Plan. The successful candidate should have strong leadership skills, integrity, and knowledge of public sector governance. The position is a full-time statutory appointment for a fixed term of five years.
