Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician with expertise in solar energy systems, particularly those utilizing Enphase and SolarEdge technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to ensure optimal performance along with completing Site Assessments prior to installation. This role requires hands-on technical skills, a strong understanding of solar equipment, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• System Maintenance & Repairs:
• Diagnose and repair issues in residential and commercial solar PV systems, with a focus on Enphase and SolarEdge inverters and monitoring platforms.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure long-term system reliability.
• Address electrical and mechanical system issues, including wiring, panel cleaning, and component replacement.
• Assist with inverter replacements, module swaps, or system expansions as needed.
• Troubleshooting:
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve system performance issues.
• Interpret system monitoring data to pinpoint and address performance discrepancies.
• Site Assessments:
• Conduct on-site surveys to evaluate the feasibility of solar PV system installation.
• Assess roof conditions, structural integrity, shading, and orientation.
• Measure roof dimensions, azimuths, tilt angles, and obstructions.
• Data Collection:
• Gather detailed site data, including electrical panel specifications, service capacity, and existing infrastructure.
• Use specialized tools such as drones, measuring equipment, and shading analysis devices .
• Capture high-quality photos of the site, including roof areas, electrical components, and property surroundings.
• Customer Support:
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain system issues and proposed solutions.
• Provide education on system operation, maintenance, and monitoring tools.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain detailed service records, including work performed and system performance metrics.
• Provide feedback to engineering and operations teams for continuous improvement.
Compliance & Safety:
• Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience with Enphase and SolarEdge technologies, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Certification or training in solar PV systems .
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, AC/DC wiring, and grid-tied solar systems.
• Familiarity with solar monitoring platforms and tools for performance analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with battery storage systems.
• Knowledge of local permitting and inspection processes.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools for solar system maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work at heights and in varying outdoor conditions.
• Comfort with lifting equipment or materials up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to adhere to strict safety guidelines and procedures.
Salary
$23 - $25 per hour
