Located in the heart of Central Ohio, Illuminate USA is transforming solar panel manufacturing from our cutting-edge facility in Pataskala. As a new standalone joint venture established by two global leaders in renewable energy, we’ve rapidly grown to over 1,500 associates and are now fully operational in our 1.1 million-square-foot factory. Our vision is to establish one of the largest solar panel manufacturing operations in the Western Hemisphere.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an innovative and driven Solar Module Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing next-generation solar modules, enhancing their efficiency, durability, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate has a strong background in photovoltaic (PV) technology, materials science, and product design, with a passion for advancing renewable energy solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the transition to a sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and optimize high-efficiency solar modules to enhance performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Develop and maintain detailed 2D and 3D models of solar modules using CAD software.
• Evaluate and select materials for solar module components to maximize efficiency and longevity.
• Conduct material compatibility and durability testing to ensure long-term performance.
• Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve design challenges.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product development.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and manufacturing guidelines.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in solar module design or a related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Familiarity with solar module manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Strong understanding of photovoltaic principles, materials, and technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with advanced solar cell technologies.
• Knowledge of reliability testing and failure analysis for solar modules.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
