About the position

We are seeking a skilled Solar Installer to join our team at Energy Select, located in Leonardtown, MD. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing solar panels on rooftops and ensuring the efficient operation of solar energy systems. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic industry at the forefront of renewable energy technology. As a Solar Installer, you will be involved in the installation of solar panels, racking systems, and other associated equipment on both residential and commercial properties, following company guidelines and safety protocols. The role requires a positive attitude and mechanical inclination, as we will provide training on the specific skills needed for solar panel installation. You will perform quality checks to ensure that all components are securely installed and that the systems are functioning optimally. Additionally, you will assist with the electrical wiring of all solar energy products, which may require experience or training in trades such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or construction. Physical demands of the job include the ability to safely handle tools and materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, and batteries. You must be capable of working in various environments, including hot sun, cold weather, and crawl spaces, and be comfortable working at heights, including on rooftops and climbing ladders and stairs. The job requires physical exertion, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates must also pass a criminal background check and random drug tests, and possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Requirements
• Experience in construction (2 years preferred).

• Experience in solar panel installation (1 year preferred).

• Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems.

• Ability to build and plumb racking systems for solar panels.

• Proficiency in using hand tools for assembly and installation tasks.

• Familiarity with roofing techniques for proper panel placement.

• Understanding of high voltage systems and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.

• Valid driver's license with a good record.

Nice-to-haves
