Job Description

Wild Earth Art is seeking a Senior Landscape Designer in Sebastopol, CA. This part-time, hybrid role involves landscape design, project management, and onsite support. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in design software. The position offers flexible hours, a pay rate of $35-$55/hr, benefits after a probation period, and opportunities for growth within a women-owned company specializing in ecological landscaping.
Job Role Overview:

The Senior Designer & Project Manager is an evolving role for an evolving company. The role will be part time, flexible schedule, with lots of room to grow. This is a hybrid position of lead residential landscape design work, project management, and onsite installation support. Cultivating good relationships among clients, team members and surrounding community is key!

Who you are:

You have 5+ years experience as a landscape designer, with direct experience in horticultural, installation builds, project management + administrative functions, and managerial and leadership roles. You are adaptable, organized and a self starter with great interpersonal, communication skills, and a dazzling ecological landscape design portfolio. In addition you have/are:

Qualifications:
• Detail oriented & organized
• Excellent communication + writing skills, specifically client interfacing + communication
• Hands on horticulture + building experience
• Spanish proficiency is a plus

1. Design:
• Fluent in Sketchup, CAD, Adobe Suite, + Google Suite, iPad illustration a plus
• Ability to lead design process from initial site assessment through concepts to final design, including take offs, construction documentation, irrigation plans, plant lists
• Experience in client-facing design pitches and feedback loops

2. Project Management: Creating estimates, take offs, material orders, timelines

3. Construction management experience:
• Onsite design layout + implementation
• Directing crews + quality checks on site to install design successfully

Knowledge and experience designing/working with:
• CA native plants
• Ornamental and edible plants for Sonoma County
• Firescaping principles
• Wall + Patio Construction
• Greywater systems and stormwater harvesting
• Irrigation systems (wells, water features a plus!)
• Landscape lighting systems

What we offer:
• Starting pay is $35-$55/hr based on experience
• Apx 24-32 hrs/week to start, possibility of increasing to full time
• Hybrid position: majority remote work with some onsite field, nursery, + errand work around Sonoma County + greater Bay Area
• Flexible schedule
