Job Description
AECOM is hiring a Senior GHG & Business Decarbonization Advisor for a remote role, focusing on business development and client management within the ESG sector. The position involves advising on technical matters, developing innovative solutions, and overseeing less experienced scientists. Candidates should have 8+ years of experience in emissions management and familiarity with GHG accounting standards. Preferred qualifications include extensive experience in decarbonization strategies and low carbon technologies.
Job Summary
AECOM has a position available for a Senior GHG & Business Decarbonization Advisor.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing team and practice within AECOM in the ESG space. We are seeking a candidate who can help with business development, client management and advise on technical matters.
This is a remote role and we are seeking candidates in Chelsmford MA, New York, NY or Arlington, VA.
General responsibilities for this position will include:
• Make recommendations on work methods and procedures and technical innovations by devising practical and economical solutions to problems in own discipline.
• Make recommendations on research requests, objectives, priorities, and timing.
• Assess need for change and recommends development of standards.
• Assess work against standards, objectives, and specifications.
• Utilize advanced scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies when working on unusually complex technical problems.
• Interpret and record data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
• Develop solutions which are highly innovative. Assignments are often self-initiated. Acts as advisor to management and clients.
• Oversee the work of less experienced scientists.

Minimum Requirements
• BA/BS + Intermediate to senior level experience (8+ years) experience in providing technical support on emissions inventories and emissions reductions
• Direct experience in supporting emissions management (inventory and reductions) within a variety of sectors including manufacturing or oil and gas (upstream and midstream) or energy/utilities
Preferred Qualifications
• Intermediate to senior level experience, 10+ years’ experience in providing technical support on emissions inventories and emissions reductions
• Direct experience with GHG accounting standards (such as the GHG Protocol, ISO 14064) and experience in developing GHG inventories (EPA-regulatory and voluntary/corporate level).
• Experience conducting Scope 3 value chain GHG assessments (screening level and detailed quantification).
• Energy efficiency / GHG management; including a deep technical understanding of decarbonization mechanisms and technologies.
• Knowledge of target setting approaches, including science-based targets.
• An understanding of low carbon technologies, renewable energy, and new emerging technologies such as CCUS, hydrogen, etc.
• Experience working on GHG emission reduction initiatives, defining decarbonization strategies (corporate-wide and field-level) which includes the associated cost/benefit analysis.
• Independent research and analytical skills - you’re able to identify, review and synthesize key findings in scientific and engineering literature, reports – with a keen interest of staying on top of new standards, certifications, and technologies.
• Ability to write concise, clear, and effective narratives in reporting, in presentations, and contributions to proposals and communicate effectively to a wide-variety of audiences, including technical and executive-level.
• Direct experience in a consulting environment, including client-relationship management.

Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (NYC locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $180,000.
