Arcadis is seeking a Senior Consultant - Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Practitioner in Navi Mumbai, India, to support its growing sustainability services. The role involves conducting product/process LCAs, utilizing tools like SimaPro and GaBi, and includes tasks such as data gathering, analysis, and reporting. Candidates should have a Master's degree, at least 2 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in LCA software. A passion for sustainability and strong communication skills are essential.

Role description:
Sustainability is positioned in the center of Arcadis' strategy. Therefore, it is no surprise that our sustainability services are experiencing strong growth! Product sustainability, CO2 and water footprints, ESG assessments, circular business models, industrial symbiosis... there are many interesting challenges with our ambitious clients in Belgium and internationally.
To further develop and run these projects, we are looking for a passionate LCA practitioner: interested in the full process of an LCA from goal and scope definition, data gathering, impact calculation to reporting.
Role accountabilities:
As an LCA practitioner, you are focusing on conducting product (or process) LCA’s.
• For products/processes at R&D or commercial stage,
• Using different tools (e.g. SimaPro, GaBi, OpenLCA, Ecochain) and databases.
• Your tasks include scope definition, data gathering, data analysis and reporting.
• You are expected to work autonomously on the lifecycle inventory (selecting appropriate secondary data or proxies).
• Next to that, you will provide support for the development of Product Environmental Footprinting strategies with companies or sector associations.
• Perform regulatory tracking related to sustainability topics and evaluate the business impact of changing regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement SSbD assessment approach for clients.
• Identify and assess more sustainable alternatives.
• Develop circular economy approach at product level.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Master's degree with an analytical approach (Bio-engineer, chemical engineer, civil engineer, commercial sciences, economics, ...). An additional master in Sustainability or environmental sciences is an important asset.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with LCA software tools (either SimaPro or Gabi or Ecochain or OpenLCA ) and good practical knowledge of standards for LCA and Product Carbon Footprint (ISO standards, GHG Protocol) is an absolute must.
• Experience with different LCA / PCF automation tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of chemical synthesis pathways is a plus.
• Experience with Safe and Sustainable by Design assessments is a plus.
• You are passionate about the topic, you are able to handle complexity, you have a flexible mindset, you value collaboration, and you have excellent communication skills in English and one other language.
