ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a talented and dedicated Senior Sustainable Design Specialist to provide leadership in the execution of sustainable design initiatives and resilience strategies, and to deliver excellent design solutions through creative problem solving. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing building performance expertise for our project teams in our Austin and Scottsdale studios. In addition to collaborating with project teams, they will work closely with Firm Leadership to shape and achieve company-wide sustainability goals. The core responsibilities include:
• Advance and implement sustainable design processes and mentor and educate design teams
• Collaborate with multiple design teams, consultants and clients on sustainable design and implementation
• Perform building performance analysis throughout design
• Champion design decisions that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient
• Present sustainable design concepts and strategies to clients and stakeholders
• Research latest sustainable design technologies and methodologies
• Oversee LEED and AEGB (Austin) project administration and reporting through design and construction phases
• Monitor and track project performance and complete reporting for AIA 2030 commitment
• Prepare sustainability exhibits for marketing and design award submissions
• Uphold our commitment to client service

REQUIREMENTS
• LEED AP or BD+C Accreditation
• Professional Licensure – preferred, but not required
• Experience – 8-10 years of commercial design experience, including at least 2 years of experience in delivering projects with sustainable design certifications
• Expertise – advanced knowledge in building science, sustainable design principles, and sustainability certifications including LEED, AEGB (Austin), and WELL
• Design Skills –strong design fundamentals and communication skills
• Technical Skills –strong technical understanding of building systems, codes, and construction methods
• Presentation Skills – engaging, dynamic communicator with both internal teams and clients/consultants
• Team-oriented – successful collaborator in a high-energy team environment
• Software Proficiency – Revit, Design Performance Tools, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and Bluebeam
