BCL Legal is delighted to be supporting a highly-regarded national firm seeking to recruit an experienced Senior or Principal Associate to join its multi-disciplinary Planning & Environment team in Sheffield and support the growth of the team nationally.

The team is one of the fastest growing planning teams in the UK, operating nationally as a multi-disciplinary Planning & Environmental Group. The team comprises planning lawyers, environmental lawyers and planning consultants operating across all development sectors and they offer a wide range of expertise across both Planning and Environmental matters, to include specialist areas of environmental regulation from natural environment, biodiversity and sustainability, to environmental permitting, circular economy, contaminated land, waste and water regulation, climate change and regulatory defence.

The team is led by a highly regarded Partner, recognised as one of the top 20 Planning Solicitors in the country.

The Ideal Candidate:

· Qualified Planning and/or Environment solicitor, ideally with upwards of six years' PQE
· Demonstrable experience of contentious planning and environment work to include Planning Inquiries and High Court challenges/Judicial Reviews
· Experience advising on advisory and transactional work including Section 106 agreements, highways and other statutory agreements, Environmental Impact Assessments and Strategic Environmental Assessments, waste-related planning law, and advising on the planning or environmental aspects of property and corporate transactions
· Enthusiastic and passionate about planning law
· A strong commercial acumen
