About the position

Kenvue is currently seeking a passionate and influential Global Packaging Innovation Engineer to join our Research and Development team. This role is pivotal in developing innovative packaging strategies with a strong emphasis on sustainability, aimed at delivering superior consumer experiences through human-centered innovation. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating opportunities that will attract new consumers daily, aligning with our Healthy Lives Mission commitment. The Global Packaging Innovation Engineer will develop brand portfolio technical glidepaths and guide project teams towards future-fit packaging solutions that not only meet our business objectives but also minimize environmental impact and drive brand growth. In this role, you will act as a change agent, developing 3-5 year packaging roadmaps and implementing global innovation strategies for benefit-led innovation platforms. You will lead the feasibility studies of new global packaging technologies that add value to our global brand portfolio. Your responsibilities will include conducting research and development of innovative sustainable packaging materials and technologies, such as recycled plastics, renewable feedstocks, and recyclable formats. Collaboration with cross-functional leaders will be essential as you set priority workstreams to drive the packaging agenda forward. Additionally, you will foster a supplier joint-value ecosystem to develop conceptual formats, assess material feasibility, and differentiate product experiences. An outside-in focus will be crucial, as you will engage in open innovation scouting and technology integration, leveraging the latest trends and foresight in the packaging industry to guide future-fit packaging portfolios. Your influence on brand growth will be significant as you explore new formats, propose business models, and advance sustainable innovations that benefit both people and the planet. You will drive holistic packaging development through collaborations with consumer insight teams, design, and new value propositions for our brands and consumers.

Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in packaging innovation, material design, supplier co-creation, and a consistent track record of bringing new products to market demonstrating differentiating technologies.

• Technical-based degree required, preferably in packaging or mechanical engineering.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
,
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.

• Extensive working knowledge of packaging materials and technologies, recycled and recyclable content, sustainable packaging practices, the circular economy, lifecycle assessments, sustainability metrics, and their environmental impact.

• Deep understanding of consumer, business, and brand needs and the relationship to packaging decisions and execution.

• An entrepreneurial approach that turns insights into product opportunities.
