As a Lead Geologist / Environmental Scientist, you will serve as the primary technical resource for various projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards. You will lead the preparation of factual reports and technical documents, oversee data management and analysis, and interact with regulatory agencies and clients. Your role will also involve coaching junior scientists, managing fieldwork, and offering geologic expertise in data interpretation. This position can be based in various locations, including Green Bay, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Duluth, Peoria, Springfield, or Cedar Rapids, or it can be performed remotely from a home office in or near Wisconsin, Minnesota, or Iowa.

Responsibilities
• Serve as primary technical resource for permitting and compliance projects.

• Lead the preparation of factual reports, summary technical documents, and permitting and renewal documents.

• Develop technical plans and reports for geological / hydrogeological investigations, feasibility studies, and corrective action.

• Oversee data management and analysis for data collected in the field.
,
• Interact with regulatory agencies and clients.
,
• Identify, evaluate, and document ways to improve and optimize remediation activities including technologies, approaches, strategies, and best practices.

• Proactively identify client needs and initiate activities to meet those needs.
,
• Demonstrate effective client and project team communication skills with a focus on technical issues for clients, regulators, and stakeholders.

• Coach junior scientists to develop their technical skills.
,
• Serve as a primary contact for clients in the permitting and compliance space.

• Manage and/or implement fieldwork associated with well installation, soil boring investigations, and soil type classification.

• Offer geologic experience in the interpretation of data collected in the field and compiled from other sources.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science or related field.

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in environmental permitting and compliance.

• Experience working with federal and/or state regulators on permitting and compliance.

Nice-to-haves
• Master's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field.

• Professional Geologist (PG) licensure or ability to obtain.

• Experience with federal and state regulatory requirements and standards for waste facilities and emerging regulatory issues.

• 5+ years of experience working in the environmental consulting industry.

• Experience with surface and groundwater modeling for impacts assessments and evaluations.
