Morris & Ritchie Associates, Inc. (MRA) is looking for a creative and driven Landscape Designer or Landscape Architect to join our team in Laurel, Maryland. If you have 1 to 8 years of experience and a passion for transforming ideas into vibrant, functional landscapes, this is your opportunity to grow with a collaborative, multidisciplinary firm.
In this role, you'll work alongside engineers, planners, and architects to help design innovative outdoor environments for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. From the earliest concept through construction documents, you'll be part of a team shaping impactful spaces that connect people with the built environment.
What You'll Do:
• Create detailed landscape plans, including planting, irrigation, sediment, and erosion control
• Assist with conceptual site planning and grading design for land development projects
• Prepare construction documents, specifications, and reports
• Collaborate with design staff across disciplines to deliver coordinated project solutions
• Interpret and apply local jurisdictional codes (e.g., zoning, subdivision, signage, and landscape regulations); experience with crafting or modifying these documents is a plus
What We're Looking For:
• 1-8 years of relevant professional experience in landscape design or landscape architecture
• Proficiency with industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp; Civil 3D a plus)
• A strong eye for design and detail
• Solid understanding of site development principles
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture
• Landscape Architecture Licensure not required
• 2+ years of experience in planning and landscape architectural design to include site layouts, landscape design and grading
• Excellent written, graphic, and oral presentation communication skills
• Fluency in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
