YOUR POSITION WITH WCS-INDIA

The Information Technology Officer maintains information technology systems for WCS-India offices. Researches and resolves the most difficult and complex problems that other help desk levels have been unable to resolve.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Information Technology Technician maintains information technology systems (including PC , LAN/WAN equipment, Data storage,) for WCS-India offices. They provide IT operations functions to offices for the organization’s standard hardware, software and voice/data network solutions. Responsible for the purchase, installation, and life-cycle maintenance of PCs, servers ,network connectivity equipment and software. As appropriate, they provide escalated on-site support of hardware, software and network connectivity issues. Acts as the primary point of communication between IT and primary operating business, other operating units in the service area, and external vendors. Performs local and service area administration and operations functions as appropriate in accordance with WCS-India and IT standards, policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
• In cooperation with local operations staff and key users, provides strategic, budgeting, and disaster recovery/business continuity planning to offices and staff in multiple operating, business, and functional units.
• Responsible for local inventory maintenance and software license management.
• Responsible for maintenance of systems documentation such as IT operations manuals. Serves as the technical and communications liaison to and from stakeholders and office key users for IT communications, initiatives, needs assessments, etc.
• Responsible for the procurement process, installation, and life-cycle maintenance of IT hardware and software throughout the Office
• Monitors internal and external bandwidth usage and overall network and Internet connection health.
• Manages the operating systems, applications, file systems, and databases of enterprise servers and appliances.
• Provides escalated technical support that requires an on-site presence (server, network or PC equipment failure), including data backup recovery. Performs complex software/hardware troubleshooting, patches, and in accordance with established SLAs.
• Provide staff with PC/account setup and orientation.
• Responsible for local IT vendor, contract, and outsourcing management.
• Responsible that all IT Infrastructure and hardware is in compliance with industry IT Security standards and in accordance with WCS and IT standards, policies, and procedures
• Manages, responds to, and mitigates threats to the security and stability of WCS-India IT systems.
• Develops Cybersecurity awareness among all staff in the Country/offices
• Responsible for training new staff in IT Technologies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and/or professional certification, or combined equivalent with 4 years’ experience.
• Experience with MS Office 365 software, MS Azure, Windows, and Macintosh environments.
• Experience manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting data.
