Job Description

Australian National University is seeking a PhD student to work on a project focused on the effects of climate on disease resistance in wheat. The project aims to explore the relationship between elevated temperature, CO2 levels, and adult plant resistance (APR) genes in wheat rust diseases. The student will study the expression and function of APR genes under future predicted environmental conditions, with the goal of identifying effective resistance genes for future climatic conditions. The ideal candidate will have a background in biology, preferably in plant biology or molecular biology. The position offers a four-year scholarship package and includes a three-month industry engagement component.
