Job Description

SubjectToClimate is seeking an Illinois Teaching Resource Reviewer to source and evaluate climate change teaching resources specific to Illinois. Responsibilities include categorizing resources, writing teaching tips, and collaborating with the Content Management team. The role requires approximately 10 hours per week from March to June 2025. This is a remote position with flexible hours and a flat stipend of $5,000 upon project completion.

Position Description

The Illinois Teaching Resource Reviewer will play a key role in sourcing and evaluating Illinois-specific teaching resources. This includes identifying new resources, categorizing them by grade level, subject, and topic, and writing teaching tips to support classroom implementation. The Resource Developer will collaborate with the Content Management team to ensure resources are accurately categorized and meet high-quality standards. Guidance and support will be provided by the Director of Resources. This is a remote position and work hours are flexible. A flat $5,000 stipend is provided for this work, which will be paid in 1 check from the Environmental Education Association of Illinois after the project is completed.

Responsibilities:
• Source and evaluate climate change teaching resources specific to Illinois, ensuring alignment with Illinois educational standards.
• Categorize resources by grade level, subject area, and topic.
• Write concise and practical teaching tips to enhance resource usability in K-12 classrooms.
• Collaborate with the Content Team to maintain accuracy and quality in resource categorization and content.
• Review resources created by others, as needed.
• Dedicate approximately 10 hours per week to the role from March to June 2025, with occasional availability for meetings.
• Attend and participate in Working Committee meetings and asynchronous tasks. More information about the Working Committee can be found here. Please note: attendance at both the Working Committee and Advisory Committee meetings is required.

Qualifications
• Current teacher
• Resident of Grundy County, Illinois
• Resident of Will County, Illinois
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Availability to work 10 hours/week resource review work from March - June 2025
