GreenReach Farms is seeking a Hydroponic Farming Technician for a summer position in Gananoque, ON. This role involves hands-on tasks in sustainable indoor agriculture, including crop maintenance, monitoring plant growth, and engaging with customers and social media. Ideal for students in agriculture or related fields, the position offers practical experience in hydroponic farming while promoting local food production.

Position Overview

As a Hydroponic Farming Technician, you will play an essential role in the daily operations of our farm. This position is ideal for students interested in agriculture, sustainability, or food production, offering hands-on experience in hydroponic farming. You will assist with farm maintenance, crop production, customer interactions, and social media engagement to help promote our mission of fresh, local, and sustainable food production.

Key Responsibilities

Farm Operations
• Assist with seeding, transplanting, and harvesting crops
• Monitor plant growth and document observations
• Maintain a clean and organized farm environment by following sanitation protocols
• Assist in nutrient management and basic system maintenance

Observation & Reporting
• Record growth rates, plant health, and environmental conditions
• Identify and report potential issues such as pest presence or nutrient deficiencies

Social Media & Customer Engagement
• Capture high-quality photos and videos for GreenReach’s social media platforms
• Create engaging content about urban farming, sustainability, and produce updates
• Interact with visitors, answer questions, and assist with farm tours or sales

Qualifications
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Currently enrolled in or studying biology, biotechnology, environmental science, agriculture, or a related field(preferred but not required)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow protocols and document observations accurately
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Experience with social media content creation is an asset
