About the position

The Environmental and Safety Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the Airport adheres to all applicable Federal, State, and local environmental regulations, as well as Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) standards. This role involves managing environmental assessments, overseeing safety programs, and acting as a liaison with regulatory bodies. The specialist will also lead efforts during irregular operations and ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.

Responsibilities
• Assist with managing, coordinating, and overseeing all environmental assessments, investigations, and remedial actions for current and proposed Airport facilities.

• Provide environmental technical support regarding environmental issues associated with property transactions and development projects.

• Review and approve contractor deliverables associated with Airport and tenant development projects to ensure compliance with regulations.

• Act as the Airport's liaison with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection regarding all correspondence for Airport sites.

• Ensure that all permits are current and renewed as required.

• Manage the Airport's Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan.

• Conduct required environmental inspections of Airport facilities and remedy any deficiencies or non-compliance.

• Assist with managing claims associated with the Airport's environmental insurance policies.
,
• Conduct leasehold inspections and develop relationships with leasehold tenants to ensure compliance.

• Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety programs and training for employees.
,
• Conduct safety inspections and audits of Airport facilities and remedy any issues of non-compliance.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.

• 3-5 years' work experience in environmental and safety compliance required.

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

• Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking).

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.

Nice-to-haves
