Director of Marketing

Elevate Ventures is seeking a Director of Marketing in Indianapolis, IN, to drive brand and content efforts. The role involves storytelling, marketing operations, project management, and content execution to support the VP of Marketing. Ideal candidates will have a passion for executing strategies and creating impactful content. POSITION OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a Director of Marketing who thrives on execution, loves to tell compelling stories, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. This role will support the VP of Marketing in driving brand and content efforts, bringing them to life with excellence and consistency.You’ll create high-impact content, manage key deliverables, and drive forward the tactical execution that makes strategy real. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Storytelling: Capture the essence of Elevate’s work by highlighting the founders we serve and the innovation happening across Indiana.
• Marketing Operations: Manage publishing calendars, social scheduling, marketing automation, asset organization, and backend execution.
• Project Management: Keep marketing initiatives on track through tools like ClickUp, coordinating across departments as needed.
• Creative Partner Coordination: Work with external creatives (writers, designers, video editors) to bring content ideas to life on brand and on budget.
• Content Execution: Write, edit, and produce marketing content, including blogs, email campaigns, scripts, social media, event promos, and internal collateral.
• Campaign Support: Execute integrated marketing campaigns across channels with an emphasis on timelines, consistency, and top-tier quality.
• Asset & Collateral Development: Partner with the design or outside vendors to develop one-pagers, decks, signage, reports, and branded visuals.
• RALLY Innovation Conference Marketing Leadership: Own the marketing strategy and execution for the RALLY Innovation Conference, including managing the Marketing Subcommittee to drive registrations, pitch applications, national awareness, and consistent brand messaging across all channels.

QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of experience in content marketing, brand communications, or creative execution roles.
• A strong storyteller with the ability to simplify complex topics and bring emotional resonance to content.
• Proven ability to own and execute deliverables with precision and attention to detail.
• Strong ability to prioritize workflow.
• Experience working within brand guidelines to build trust and consistency.
• Skilled in HubSpot, Adobe Creative Suite, ClickUp, WordPress, and Webflow.
• Strong copywriting and editing skills; confident in both long-form content like industry reports and short copy like sharp, engaging headlines.
• Comfortable collaborating with C-Suite leaders.
• High ownership mentality and a team-first attitude.

• Experience in venture capital, marketing agency, startups, economic development, or the broader innovation space.
• Portfolio or work samples showcasing writing, campaigns, or brand storytelling.
• Light design or video editing skills.
