Besides working with network automation and orchestration in our Network Infrastructure you could be the talented Network Orchestration Chapter Lead Vestas is looking for. We are on a digital journey and as Chapter Lead you will both be part of the developer team as well as have formal leadership for the Orchestration Chapter.

Core Infrastructure & Network is part of Digital Technology Solutions reporting to the CIO of Vestas, where we are end-to-end responsible for the full stack Enterprise Network, from Global Access over all Network Security services to Data Center and Cloud Networking. We develop, deliver and own strategies, roadmaps, governance and day-to-day operations driven by business demands and technology expertise.

As a Network Orchestration Architect, you will combine your hands-on Network Engineering skills with your software architecture expertise in building network orchestration and automation services.

We work in agile products, staffed from functional Chapters where employees are organized among equals. As a Chapter Lead for the Orchestration Chapter you will have the formal leadership of competent colleagues working with Network Automation and Orchestration across the entire Product Area (Department). You and your team define the 'How' of our Operating Model.

Responsibilities

Our main responsibility is to keep Vestas a market innovator by supporting our digitalization journey through innovative, fully governed, and easy consumable Network offerings.

  • As the Orchestration Chapter Lead, you will have a combined role leading, coaching, and developing your colleagues and in parallel fully engage in architecture and software engineering development in the Enterprise Services Product focusing on overlay automation and orchestration of Network Services.
  • The Chapter Lead is a regular manager role for 6-8 highly skilled employees including everything from various managerial controlling and approval tasks, over daily leadership, and coaching to the full yearly leadership wheel with training, development, recruiting etc.
  • As Network Orchestration Architect, you will be part of the Enterprise Services Product developing our platforms for network automation and monitoring which exposes the services offered across the full department to all consumers throughout Vestas. This includes monitoring both internally for the operationally focused teams, but also self-monitoring of the stacks used to support automation and monitoring.
  • You will align demands and service architecture with network architects representing the various infrastructure platforms and services, have those requirements put into architecture documentation instructing our developers (internal and external) what to code and develop.

Qualifications

Leadership experience and documented training is of course advantageous, but an ambition to lead and drive success through others combined with positive feedback on leadership potential from stakeholders and colleagues can qualify. Besides:

  • A Bachelor or master's degree in IT, engineering, science or related.
  • Relevant expert networking or software development certifications as an alternative to formal education.
  • You hold years of experience working with architecture and hands-on overlay coding orchestrating and automating platforms and services using Python, Ansible or comparable protocols.
  • Our Network infrastructure is based on Cisco ACI, Cisco Catalyst/ISR platforms (C8x00, C9x00, ISR1K, ISR4K series), Check Point and CloudGuard FWs, Citrix NetScaler, hence expert experience working with these or similar is expected.
  • Experience working with large global networks and governance models is good to have.
