Job Description

MPOWIR is seeking postdoctoral collaborators for a project focusing on nonstationary atmosphere-ocean and climate-biology relationships in the North Pacific Ocean. The project aims to understand changes in leading climate patterns and their ecological impacts due to climate change. The research, funded by NOAA-FATE, will test SLP-SST correlations as predictors for biological responses, develop new climate indices, and make short-term climate predictions. Interested collaborators can apply to the University of Alaska Fairbanks Centennial Postdoctoral Initiative for research on topics like changing salmon diversity and Arctic Oscillation effects on North Pacific climate relationships.
