Job Description

MPOWIR is seeking postdoctoral collaborators to study nonstationary atmosphere-ocean and climate-biology relationships in the North Pacific Ocean. The project aims to understand the ecological impacts of climate change by examining changes in leading climate patterns since the late 1980s. The two-year research project funded by NOAA-FATE will focus on testing SLP-SST correlations as predictors for biological responses, developing new climate indices, and making short-term climate forecasts. Potential research topics include documenting changes in salmon runs, developing new climate indices, and studying the role of Arctic Oscillation in changing SLP-SST relationships.
