Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Biology & ESS Teacher to teach students in Grades 9-12 under the IGCSE and IBDP curriculum. The teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that promote critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and interdisciplinary connections.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Curriculum Delivery:
• Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with Cambridge IGCSE Biology and IBDP Biology & ESS syllabi.
• Use inquiry-based and concept-driven approaches to enhance student understanding.
• Integrate real-world applications and scientific investigations into lessons.
• Differentiate instruction to cater to diverse student learning needs.

Assessment & Evaluation
• Design formative and summative assessments aligned with IBDP Internal Assessments (IA), Extended Essays (EE), and Practical Investigations.
• Provide constructive feedback to support student growth.
• Guide students in their IA and EE research topics in Biology & ESS.

Student Engagement & Mentorship
• Foster a student-centered learning environment that encourages independent thinking.
• Support students in developing critical thinking and research skills.
• Mentor students in CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) projects related to environmental studies.

Professional Development & Collaboration
• Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and IB workshops.
• Collaborate with colleagues in interdisciplinary projects and school initiatives.
• Participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.

Qualifications & Requirements
• Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• B.Ed.
• Minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience in IGCSE/IBDP Biology and ESS.
• Experience in conducting IBDP Internal Assessments and Extended Essays.

Skills
• Strong knowledge of IB philosophy, ATL skills, and inquiry-based teaching.
• Proficiency in technology-integrated teaching and lab-based learning.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Preferred
• Prior experience teaching ESS (Environmental Systems & Societies) in the IBDP curriculum.
• Certification in IB/IGCSE workshops and training.
• Experience in guiding students for Olympiads, research projects, or sustainability initiatives.

Work Schedule
• Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - 7.50am to 4pm
• Wed - 7.50am to 4.30pm
