Environmental Lawyer - Regional A leading international law firm is seeking a senior lawyer to join its Environmental team in a regional UK office. This is a key strategic hire, offering the opportunity to step into a visible role with a strong focus on climate change and sustainability.


The Role
You will work closely with senior lawyers across the environmental practice, supporting a mix of regulatory advisory and transactional/drafting work.


The role will involve
Advising on environmental regulation, particularly in the climate change and sustainability spaceDrafting and negotiating complex commercial and project documentationSupporting major infrastructure and consenting projectsSupervising and mentoring junior lawyers across multiple regional officesCollaborating on cross-office UK and international matters The Work The team is known for its involvement in innovative and forward-thinking projects, including:
Climate change and sustainability initiativesNatural capital projects, including habitat banks and biodiversity schemesConservation covenants and evolving regulatory frameworksWaste, batteries and wider environmental regulatory regimesLarge-scale infrastructure, energy and water resource projects
Candidate Requirements
Significant UK experience in environmental law with demonstrable experience in climate change and sustainabilityAbility to deliver both regulatory advice and hands-on contractual draftingExperience with major infrastructure or consenting work is advantageousComfortable taking on a supervisory role within a junior teamAbility to operate effectively in a multi-office, collaborative environment The Opportunity
